So in a week and a half’s time, my life’s work will be a Kickstarter.
While it may be sad to say that a graphic novel is my life’s work, well, it took me a long time to get here.
I’ve been doing webcomics since 2012, and it was only in the past 5 years, working with Dee Fish and learning some of the essentials from Howard Chaykin that I genuinely hit my stride as a storyteller.
As the old man often says, we stand on the shoulders of giants.
The earlier volumes will be hitting print post-Kickstarter, and I am still proud of them. But this book is our baby- we put our all into it, and it’s a darn good book, if I say so myself.
With that said, we’re going to advertise that Kickstarter a LOT in the coming weeks and a WHOLE LOT during the campaign itself, which will start August 5th, and will run through the 26th.
So I will apologize in advance, because we are going to be posting quite a few ads for the Kickstarter. You will get sick of hearing about it, but I’ll ask your indulgence in advance.
This is our baby we’re bringing into the world- a permanent record of a very impermanent medium (webcomics).
So stay tuned, and while you will get sick of seeing the ads, maybe consider boosting one, reposting it on your own page somewhere.
Our own reach is limited, and boosting the signal helps us reach more people, and gets us in front of a far greater potential audience.
Danger Team will return, and the story will finish. We had some publishing reorganization, some moving to do, and a lot of chaos and upheaval.
But the saga Hawkins has been pursuing will reach an actual satisfying conclusion, so just bear with us.
