Ending 1

A friend said I can never end without post-credit scenes, and they were right. Here’s the end of Hawkins’ story, at least for now- ending with some honesty from an old man on a beach.

ED’S NOTES

You know, as easy as a single panel page might be to look at and read?

There is a LOT of logistical planning that needs to go into it. The map that I mentioned previously comes to mind.

It assists in the position of the camera and how the mood that the script calls for plays to the reader.

Sun position and the shadows that come from it were a learning opportunity for me, as well. So, the lighting of a page, panels, and scene are again all something that should be taken into account when building a page that an artist would want to make work solidly.

Lastly, body language and character poses being used to emote personality and show how characters are feeling in a scene. It’s not enough to have two dudes smoking cigars on a beach.

If Larry Hama’s Issue Number 21 of GI Joe has taught us ANYTHING, it’s that a good artist can actually tell a story without words. So, I try my hardest to show what a character is trying to convey in their poses.

Even if they’re sitting in the sand on a remote South Pacific island.
